Hey guys! We are the University of Hull’s one and only Tamil society!
Here’s a little insight into exactly what our society is all about. The University of Hull Tamil Society aims to bring together students belonging to the tamil community as well as reaching out to other students from different cultural backgrounds who are interested in taking part in cultural festivities and learning more about our traditions.
We aim to carry this out through showcasing a number of cultural and non cultural programmes such as our monthly Galatta Nights and our celebration of Thai Pongal and Tamil New Year. To top it all off we have our very own Lakshya Dinner and Dance Ball which takes place at the end of each academic year and proved extremely popular last year – sold out event.
We are extremely passionate about this society and take on board all feedback which aims to make the whole experience worthwhile for you, our TSoc members – you speak, we listen! All the money raised from these events will be donated to charities found in Tamil Nadu and Sri Lanka.
We have worked extremely hard over the past year and have had the blessing of watching this society grow from just a few members to one big family. This year we hope to make our family even bigger and to achieve greater things!
Like what you’ve read? If so, then what are you waiting for? If you’re looking for an exciting opportunity to be a part of, then Tamil Society is definitely the society for you! This is the best way to branch out of your comfort zone, to meet new people and to make friends for life!
We look forward to meeting all you and taking you on this exciting journey with us!
