On Saturday 25th April – our team of 37 UKTSU hikers climbed Mount Snowdon – the highest mountain in England and Wales reaching 1085m above sea level! The team persevered through in heavy rain, wind and hailstorm and temperatures of -3 degrees Celsius at the summit – all in aid of UKTSU’s Mobile Health Clinic initiative in Sri-Lanka. It was an amazing 8 hour experience – which included a 2 hour detour into some dangerous cliff areas! As ever though the team worked together to get all 37 people through it – many were beginners who overcame all big obstacles.
We have raised over an amazing £7k!! in under a month with more donations coming in – all the funds are going directly to the Mobile Clinic with the first instalment paid today – enabling the poorest villagers in rural parts of Mannar access to essential medical supplies.
Well done to all the hikers, and a special thank you to all who donated and supported us the whole way!
